Here's some more info about our technology initiative...let us know what you think....
Would you use it?
Would other teachers use it?
Do we need more info to sell this idea?

Expected Outcomes:
The Flip Video Cameras will receive positive feedback from teachers and students. It has been shown from articles, websites, blogs and comments that teachers, who used the Flip Video Cameras, did indeed enjoy them and the students had a positive response to it as well. Teachers will find that these cameras are easy to use and upload. Because of the simplicity of this technology, teachers who normally shy away from technology, due to its complexity, will be more apt to try it out and potentially use the product. They will also find that it can be utilized in all subjects and grade levels. We expect Flip Video Cameras to be fully integrated without much effort into the classroom rather than used just once and then put on the shelf. Students will be able to take more meaningful lessons away due to their experiences with this technology we are introducing.

jen has said that she would use it in both the emmaus program and in math. she also feels that other teachers in different subjects would use it too. like language can conduct interviews and skits. science can demonstrate experiments. interior design can do before and after demonstrations. the list is endless.
ReplyDeleteshe thinks the kids would really have fun filming each other too, and it would be something different. the problem is trusting kids to take them home, if it is allowed.
From everything I see and read about the Flip Camera, it's a great idea for student use. It incorporates more technology into our classrooms, trains students to use video equipment appropriately and most of all, they can have fun creating movies or presentations to post online.
ReplyDeletedennis said he could use it when he teaches environmental science. he said he would video tape different ecosystems in delaware and show the students so they can make the connection and see how it affects them in delaware.
